Start Gardening Your Own Herbs

People everywhere are concerned about the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers being sprayed on their food.  Although chemical spraying is convenient for businesses, it is not the healthiest choice for the consumer.  Many people are beginning to garden their own organic herbs.

Successful organic gardening depends on your knowledge of how nature works and how the herbs grow in their natural habitat.  Researching each herb you wish to grow and tending to it as though it is in its original environment will ensure the growth of a healthier and more natural organic herbal garden.

Think about the type of herb garden you wish to have.  Herb gardens can range from being a pot in your kitchen to an entire spot in your backyard.  Once you’ve decided which herb, or herbs, you wish to plant, do research.

Tip: Decide whether you would like your herbs for mostly culinary, ornamental, or medicinal purposes.  This should help narrow down your organic herb choices for your garden.

Remember:  It is important to remember that planting certain herbs next to particular plants can damage the herb or the plant.  Think about setting a private area in your yard for your herb garden.
